How Clemson football could end up with three top-5 picks in one NFL Draft

The Clemson football team is now officially undergoing spring practice and that means it’s time for some new faces to step into bigger roles.

Among the new faces who will be tasked with greater responsibilities for this Tiger team are three true-sophomores, all of which seem like sure bets to be starters: QB D.J. Uiagalelei, DL Bryan Bresee and DE Myles Murphy.

As true-freshmen, all three of these star-studded players found their way onto the field and made an impact. Bresee and Murphy played starter-level snaps and worked their way up the depth chart very early into the season. While Uiagalelei was behind Trevor Lawrence on the depth chart, he still played quite a bit and started two games when Lawrence was out due to a positive test.

With Lawrence out, Uiagalelei threw for nearly 800 yards and accounted for six touchdowns.

Now, as we step into the 2021 Clemson football season, these three sophomores are now going to be considered major impact players in their positional room

One of the most intriguing parts of this is the fact that all three of these players have the ability to be top-five picks at the next level and they’ll all likely enter the 2023 NFL Draft. Talk about an abundance of talent.

Myles Murphy and Bryan Bresee are both going to be two of the top defensive linemen in their draft class and many believe that Murphy- with his unique blend of size, strength and athleticism- could position himself as potentially the top pick in the draft that year.

But it’s not just Murphy and Bresee who are studs, either.

Anyone who saw Uiagalelei on the field can see what potential he has at this level and beyond. He has a cannon for an arm- potentially the strongest in Tiger history– and has measurables that will have NFL scouts drooling.

Could we see all three go inside the top-5 of the NFL Draft a couple of years from now? Only time will tell, but it at least has to be considered a possibility at this point.
