3. Can the secondary & offensive line make improvements?

There were some disappointments during the 2020 season, but the two most disappointing position groups for Clemson football last season was the secondary and the offensive line, no question.

Clemson’s offensive line struggled to get any kind of a push, resulting in Travis Etienne’s worst rushing year of his career. The offensive line just never showed that physicality that we were hoping to see and much of that had to do with the interior.

The secondary- while lauded heavily during the offseason- just was flat on too many occasions. They gave up some big plays and just looked soft in coverage. Any opposing quarterback with an semblance of accuracy was able to find holes in the defensive backfield and that absolutely needs to be addressed this offseason.

There were some bright spots in both cases, but these two position groups are the two groups we’ll be watching the closest as the Tigers look to improve.
