Projected Clemson football Pre-Spring Depth Chart 2021

The Clemson football team will open up spring practice Wednesday and the Tigers will go through 15 practice sessions, including the annual Orange & White Spring Game, throughout the next month and a half.

While Clemson football fans don’t get much of an opportunity to see the team during spring practice, the sessions are still an important growing point for the program as the Tigers look to reload and take a peak at what they’ll have to work with this coming fall.

As we continue to prepare for the spring practice season, here’s a look at our projected Pre-Spring Depth Chart for Clemson football.

Quarterback

Starter: D.J. Uiagalelei

  • Taisun Phommachanh
  • Hunter Helms

D.J. Uiagalelei won the starting job last fall and it hasn’t even been a question. He was the starter in two games last season when Trevor Lawrence was out due to a positive test and he gave Tiger fans a taste of what they can expect in the future.

Uiagalelei threw for nearly 800 yards and accounted for six touchdowns in those two games.

The real question is the competition behind him. Can Taisun Phommachanh– who seemed to struggle when he got into games last season- hold off Hunter Helms?

Incoming freshmen Bubba Chandler and Will Taylor won’t arrive until the summer, so we’ll be looking at these three quarterbacks this spring in terms of competition, but right now it seems like Uiagalelei’s job to lose.
