Furman

You’ll notice a trend in the teams that we selected: They’re all in-state schools and they all have ties to Clemson football.

Furman is absolutely no exception.

Though it’s been a little while since we’ve seen the Tigers and Paladins match up on the gridiron (Sept. of 2018), there is plenty of history between the two programs.

Located in Greenville, Furman has always been a program closely tied to Clemson. The first ever game in program history for the Tigers was against Furman (a 14-6 win over the Paladins on Oct. 31, 1896).

In addition, Furman is an exciting FCS program. The Paladins are ranked No. 15 to begin the year and just picked up a season-opening 35-7 victory over Western Carolina.

If you’re a Clemson football fan looking to get emotionally invested in the FCS spring season, these are the three teams you should follow that make the most sense.
