Clemson football Spring Practice is officially here

If you’ve been patiently waiting to hear about real-life positional competition and the development of the Clemson football program on the practice, you’ve finally made it.

We’re still more than six months away from the start of the 2021 Clemson football season, but Tiger fans can find a little bit of solace in the fact that from this point through the month of March and concluding the first Saturday in April, the Clemson football team will be undergoing Spring Practice.

The Tigers haven’t been on the field in a team capacity with their coaches since January 1st, when they lost to Ohio State in the CFB Playoff semifinals, and it’s clear that the team is itching to get back out there (with some new faces and new leaders) as they prepare to compete for a National Championship this season.

Clemson football will have 15 practice sessions- beginning this Wednesday- culminating with the Orange & White Spring Game on Saturday, Apr. 3

The Tigers will open their spring with a practice on Wednesday. They will have somewhere in the realm of 7-8 sessions before spring break (March 15-19) before returning to have 7-8 more sessions, including the Orange & White Spring Game on Saturday, Apr. 3.

There will be some new faces as the first-team takes the field, most notably with second-year QB D.J. Uiagalelei behind center. Oh, the center will also be new to the starting lineup.

Offensively, it will be intriguing to watch how the competition along the offensive line and at running back plays out. Defensively, while there’s still plenty of experience returning, our eyes will be in the secondary to see what improvements have been made and who has developed- particularly at safety.

Rubbing the Rock will be providing complete coverage & analysis throughout the spring practice season. Just make sure you check back here for updates and much more.
