Report: ‘Multiple’ NFL teams have Zach Wilson over Trevor Lawrence

Trevor Lawrence is supposedly the consensus the No. 1 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, but not according to the latest report.

NFL Draft Scout reported earlier this week that at least one team had Trevor Lawrence as its second quarterback on the board, but that’s not all.

Eric  Galko, President of Optimum Scouting, said that his sources indicated that there are multiple NFL teams that have Wilson above Lawrence. Many, according to Galko, are comparing Wilson to Patrick Mahomes and Kyler Murray.

The ridiculous theater can play out all it wants. Trevor Lawrence is still the No. 1 pick in the draft

Any team that has Wilson over Lawrence is either doing so because they already know that Lawrence is going to be off the board, or they are really simply clueless. Take the Chicago Bears back in 2017 as an example when they took Mitch Trubisky over Deshaun Watson and Patrick Mahomes.

Trevor Lawrence is a once-in-a-generation draft prospect who has every single intangible, measurable and skill that NFL teams are looking for in their quarterback. There’s a reason that he has been pegged as the No. 1 overall pick since before he even committed to Clemson back in high school.

These analysts can have all their ‘sources’ and talk ridiculous narratives up all they want, but it’s not going to change the outcome: Trevor Lawrence going No. 1 overall to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Galko isn’t the first analyst to come out and say he’d take a Group of 5 quarterback who lost to Coastal Carolina over a quarterback who competed in three CFB Playoffs and won every single game in his career except two against two historically talented teams.

The funny thing about all these ‘analysts’ who say things like this, though: They never have any real reasons. They just ‘have a feeling.’

They just ‘think Lawrence isn’t all that impressive’ or they are just ‘impressed with Wilson.’

We’re not saying that Wilson won’t be a great quarterback, but the two aren’t even comparable when you’re talking about draft prospects. Lawrence has better measurables, a stronger arm, experience on the biggest stage and has been in the spotlight basically the entirety of his football career.

As we said earlier, these ‘multiple’ NFL teams are either just trying to muddy the waters or have just moved on from Lawrence because they know he won’t be available. No scout who has actually watched the film would come to any conclusion other than Lawrence being the No. 1 overall pick.

If the Jaguars pass on Lawrence, it will be the biggest mistake in that franchise’s history.
