Clemson football: UGA fans legitimately believe they’ll beat Tigers
UGA fans legitimately believe they’ll beat Clemson football in September
The 2021 Clemson football season will kickoff with a big-time matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs in what will surely draw the attention of the nation.
The Tigers and Bulldogs will both be ranked inside the top-five to open the season for the neutral-site matchup in Charlotte.
The game is expected to be the ESPN College GameDay feature of the week- of course, we’re still more than seven months away- and will absolutely be a major talking point amongst both fan bases as we progress through the spring and into the summer.
Even though we’ve got a while until the game will be upon us, it’s clear that the same Georgia football fans are out and about, roaring quite a bit about their season-opening matchup against Clemson football.
Clemson football will have to deal with the ‘SEC narrative’ for the first time in quite a while
There was a small portion of time where the Clemson football program had basically broken the SEC narrative. The Tigers were the kings of College Football and there was reason to believe the program could explode into a dynasty.
Unfortunately, a loss to LSU in the National Championship followed up by a loss to Ohio State (and a subsequent Alabama win in the National Championship) have SEC homers chirping.
As we’ve experienced, Georgia and South Carolina fans are the worst among the group.
Even though the Bulldogs haven’t won a National Championship since 1980 and didn’t even win their division last year, the fan base always comes into every season thinking they should be considered one of the favorites to win the title. It’s just what they do.
Clemson football fans can expect to hear a lot more from UGA fans flaunting this ‘SEC narrative’ and talking about all the talent they possess throughout the spring and the summer until we see things settled on the field in Bank of America Stadium.
The countdown to kickoff is already on.
