This QB-WR pairing for Clemson football could be dangerous

The Clemson football offense could be absolutely lethal during the 2021 season, especially with the announcement of return from WR Justyn Ross.

Ross announced on Twitter Thursday evening that he would be returning to school for another season following this past year where he has been rehabbing from surgery on his spine.

There is no guarantee at this point that Ross will be able to return to the gridiron, but he is progressing well currently. He checked off the last medical appointment box last month and will have a few more doctor’s exams to pass before he is fully cleared, but Dabo Swinney has said that the hope is that Ross will be available this fall.

If he’s able to go, Clemson football could have one of the most dynamic WR-QB pairings in program history

Anyone that has watched Ross very long knows what he does best. The Tigers love to get him on an island with a defender and let him make the play on a 50/50 ball.

If you’ve watched D.J. Uiagalelei, you can see that one thing he does well- perhaps even better than Trevor Lawrence– is the ability to place the ball in the perfect spot, especially on deep throws.

He just has that ‘touch’ that allows him to be able to put a lot of his deep throws right on the money and in stride with his wide receiver.

If you combine Ross’s ability on the boundary with Uiagalelei’s touch, you could be talking about an extremely dangerous pairing.

The two are going to enjoy getting to work together because they each will make the other one’s job easier.

In the end, that could lead to a lot of explosive plays occurring for the Tigers offensively this season.
