Could we see Trevor Lawrence traded for Deshaun Watson?

Clemson QB Trevor Lawrence is preparing for his professional career and the upcoming 2021 NFL Draft, but could he end up in a franchise that no one could’ve ever expected?

It’s been the overall consensus for over a year now that Trevor Lawrence would be the No. 1 overall pick in the NFL Draft and that continues to be the overarching thought. The team with the No. 1 pick? The Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars are in need of a quarterback and it would almost seem as if Lawrence came along at the perfect time for the organization, but what if the Houston Texans came calling?

Could we see a trade that involves Deshaun Watson ending up with the Jacksonville Jaguars?

Why trading Trevor Lawrence and draft picks makes sense to get Deshaun Watson

There have been rumors over the last few days that Watson is asking for a trade and he is interested in waiving his no-trade clause in his contract to pursue a trade to the Miami Dolphins.

The Dolphins have the No. 3 overall pick and Tua Tagovailoa that might intrigue the Texans, but what about an even better combination: Trevor Lawrence as the No.  1 overall pick and then potential for more draft capital from the Jaguars?

The jury is out on Tagovailoa, but NFL scouts are falling over themselves when they look at Lawrence. Would trading him- and a few other picks- be enough for the Texans to relinquish Watson?

Would Watson even be interested in continuing his career in Jacksonville?

There are certainly more questions than answers, but what a strange and intriguing situation this would be for the Clemson football fan base if it unfolded.

It makes a lot of sense for both parties- the Jags and Texans- but it still seems highly unlikely that a deal of that nature occurs, especially between teams who are in the same division.
