Clemson football offensive line will decide the game

The Clemson football offensive line has not been good this year – though there should have been minimal expectations given that they were replacing 80 percent of the starters from a year ago.

However, no one expected this offensive line to get pushed around like they have, even The Citadel was living in the Tigers backfield.

That said, they played their best game of the year against Notre Dame in the ACC Championship game. No, they were not perfect but they were very good for most of the night.

Jackson Carman, Matt Bockhorst, Cade Stewart, Will Putnam, and Jordan McFadden will have their hands full with Jonathon Cooper, Tommy Togiai, Haskell Garrett and Tyreke Smith.

Monday afternoon Haskell Garrett was named to the AP second-team All-American.

If the Tigers’ offensive line can assert itself early, they will have a chance to dominate this game from the jump. If they allow the Buckeyes defensive line to play its game and control the line of scrimmage, it will be a long night for the Clemson offense and will severely limit what the Tigers can do when they have the football.
