Ohio State fans despise Dabo Swinney more than Jim Harbaugh, according to poll

There’s no doubt that Clemson football coach Dabo Swinney has rubbed the entire Ohio State fan base the wrong way over the course of the last year.

Dabo Swinney led the Tigers to a come-from-behind victory over the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Playstation Fiesta Bowl last December and the entire Buckeyes fan base has been after him ever since.

Buckeyes fans accused Swinney and the Clemson football team of ‘cheating.’ They said the officials are what cost them the game and that the Tigers didn’t earn the victory. Even after the game was well behind all of us, Ohio State fans continued to be on Dabo Swinney’s case.

They were on the frontlines of those who questioned Swinney’s character this spring and summer and they made it known to the world when the Tigers lost a recruiting battle to the Buckeyes, as well.

They- including Ohio State fan sites- pushed unfair and untrue narratives related to Swinney and it’s clear that the football program (from coaches to administrators to players to fans) have been looking for the opportunity at a rematch against Clemson.

Interestingly enough, a fan poll by Eleven Warriors revealed the amount of hate that Ohio State fans have for Dabo Swinney

More than 23,000 people voted in a poll that asked- as Ohio State fans- who do you despise more: Dabo Swinney or Jim Harbaugh?

83.2 percent of the vote (or nearly 19,200 votes) was for Swinney.

While this poll is just a small glimpse into the Buckeyes’ fan base, it shows just how much resentment is stored up for Swinney by that group.

Hilariously enough, it should also be noted that Swinney has done nothing to diffuse the situation either, ranking the Buckeyes 11th in his final Coaches’ Poll.

Clemson and Ohio State will do battle at 8 p.m. E.T. in the Sugar Bowl on New Year’s Day for a chance at advancing to the National Championship.
