Clemson Football: 4-star DB trolls Tigers before committing to UGA
4-star Clemson football target picks Georgia instead
The lone remaining major target for the 2021 Clemson football recruiting class announced his decision Tuesday and it didn’t involve the Tigers.
4-star CB Nyland Green was the only uncommitted offer remaining for Clemson football at cornerback position for the 2021 recruiting cycle. There was a point where Green seemed to be a Clemson lean, but he was always a prospect who wanted to prolong his recruitment and that ultimately led him to stay in-state.
Green, the nation’s No. 5 cornerback according to 247 Sports’ composite player rankings, chose the Georgia Bulldogs over Clemson Tuesday morning.
Ever since Green announced that his recruitment was coming to an end, the overarching belief from recruiting analysts was that he would select Georgia. The Tigers and Bulldogs were considered the heavy favorites coming into the decision with Auburn trailing behind.
Green didn’t just pick Georgia, he had to do a little trolling of Clemson football first
Nyland Green didn’t just pick Georgia over Clemson, he decided he would do a little trolling of Clemson football before he actually announced his choice.

On Twitter, Green posted the night before that he was ‘All In’ with his decision.
Of course, we all know that’s a message and hashtag that members of the Clemson football program and recruits alike have used when talking about the Tigers. Instead, though, he chose to use it to give Clemson fans just a little glimmer of hope before selecting Georgia the next morning.
As far as talent is concerned, Green is certainly going to be a special cornerback and he would’ve been a nice ‘get’ for the Tigers.
With him taking his talents to Athens, Clemson is without a cornerback commit in the 2021 class.
The Tigers might attempt to bring in a late commitment, but there’s also a shot with how many corners will be returning to the roster next year that they just move on and focus on picking up a couple at the position in the 2022 class.
