Travis Etienne is College Football’s greatest underrated player

Clemson RB Travis Etienne is going to leave his legacy as College Football’s greatest underrated player of all-time, and it’s not really even close.

Travis Etienne had already broken the Clemson football program rushing record after his junior season when he elected to come back to school. Etienne received a second-round grade following that junior campaign and he chose to come back to finish his degree and vault himself up into the first-round.

Though Etienne has consistently been dominant and elite throughout his career, he is even more consistently overlooked by national media, so-called draft experts and even the Tiger fanbase at times, as well.

We don’t know how Travis Etienne will finish his career yet, but there’s no doubt he is already going to leave as College Football’s greatest underrated player

Etienne holds the ACC rushing record and touchdown mark, yet most don’t even bring his name into the discussion when we talk about all-time greats in the conference.

Etienne has carried the ball 650 times for 4,730 yards and also has 1,078 yards receiving and 76 total touchdowns (at the time of this writing prior to the Virginia Tech game) and is going to break the 5,000 yards rushing mark before the end of his career- most likely. When he does that, he could potentially soar inside the top-20 all-time in CFB rushing- in an era where the game has become much more pass-happy.

But yet we continuously overlook him.

Maybe it’s his quiet demeanor. Maybe it’s how he just goes about his business and quietly dominates. Maybe it’s just the fact he shares the backfield with Trevor Lawrence, the face of College Football.

No matter what the reason is, it needs to stop.

dark. Next. The SEC is terrified of Clemson-Notre Dame duo

Travis Etienne is one of the greatest Clemson football players of all-time and he’s a CFB Hall of Famer- no question- when it’s all said and done. He’s the greatest underrated player in College Football history.
