The Clemson football team is ready to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies

The Clemson football team will travel up to Blacksburg to take on the Virginia Tech Hokies in a ‘must-win’ ACC matchup Saturday evening.

The Tigers are one win away from clinching a spot in the ACC Championship and can do so this weekend by beating the Hokies. However, a loss would put them out of the CFB Playoff mix and would allow Miami a chance (with a win) to clinch the second spot in the conference title game, instead.

Clemson and Virginia Tech will kickoff at 7:30 p.m. E.T. live on ABC. Chris Fowler (play-by-play), Kirk Herbstreit (color analyst) and Maria Taylor (sideline reporter) will be on the call for the pivotal matchup.

Scoring Prediction & Analysis for Clemson football against the Virginia Tech Hokies

There’s no doubt that both teams should be focused and motivated coming into this one. Virginia Tech is getting a night game on national television in front of the premiere program of College Football.

Clemson knows that it must win this game to move on to Charlotte. As a matter of fact, if the Tigers lost this one, there would be no guarantee they would play another game this year because they could be left out of the ACC Championship, wouldn’t make the CFB Playoff and there’s no guarantee about any of the bowl games being played right now.

That being said, I think you see the Tigers come out focused and ready to go. I think you see them take control early (though it won’t be 31-0 by the end of the first quarter) and then they’ll cruise to a victory.

Look for the offense to put up points and I think Virginia Tech’s rushing attack will have a hard time getting much going against the Clemson defense.

Final Score Prediction: Clemson 52, Virginia Tech 14

In the end, the Tigers just have too much talent and depth for the Hokies to be competitive for too long and they come away with the win to punch their ticket to Charlotte.
