Could we see snow during the Clemson football game against Virginia Tech?
It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen a Clemson football game played with a little snow, but there has been a hope from Tiger fans that it will happen this weekend.
The last time we saw a Clemson football team play in the snow, it was during the 2001 Humanitarian Bowl against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. The Tigers, led by Woody Dantzler, won the game 49-24 and finished the year with a 7-5 overall record.
Now, many Clemson football fans have been wondering if we would get to see anything of the like this weekend when the Tigers travel to Blacksburg, Virginia, but the weather doesn’t look like it’s going to hold true.
Reports earlier in the week were that we could see some snow on Saturday in Blacksburg- even if it wasn’t during the game- but things have changed in the weather report since then.
It’s still going to be a cold one for Clemson football against the Hokies
The game is scheduled to kickoff at 7:30 p.m. E.T. live on ABC. The high for the day in Blacksburg is expected to be 45 degrees and the temperature will be sitting right around 34 degrees at kickoff. Wind will be sitting around 10 MPH and there’s a 4 percent chance of precipitation at game time. For the day, there’s a 10 percent chance of precipitation.
Despite the fact that we’re not likely to get snow, one thing is for sure: It’s still going to be a cold one Saturday evening.
The Tigers have had the opportunity to practice in some cold weather this week leading up to the game- as temperatures have been in the 40s and 50s for much of the week in the upstate- and it will be interesting to see how the team adjusts to playing in the cold weather, especially with receivers trying to catch passes from Trevor Lawrence and the like.
In the end, we won’t get to see any snow and that may be a little disappointing, but it still should be a great weekend for some Clemson football.
