Clemson football will play host to a major 2021 recruiting visitor this weekend
Though Clemson football has seemingly been out of the sweepstakes for the No. 1 player in the country, the newest developments show there’s still a chance.
5-star DE Korey Foreman, who is listed as the No. 1 player in the country according to 247 Sports’ composite player rankings, is going to make a cross-country trip to Clemson this weekend to see the Tigers take on the Pittsburgh Panthers in their final home game of the season.
Foreman has been considered an LSU lean for quite some time now and many recruiting analysts have narrowed down the race to the Tigers and Southern Cal, but it’s clear that Clemson football is not out of the picture just yet with Foreman electing to make another visit.
Foreman de-committed from Clemson earlier in the year, but will make the ‘pay-your-own-way’ trip back to Tiger Town this weekend. Of course, recruits are on a dead period and won’t be allowed to be assisted or have in-person conversations with the staff but there’s something about the atmosphere and intrigue of Clemson that makes you believe there’s still a chance he could end up committing before it’s all said and done.
Clemson football has plenty of depth at defensive end, but the Tigers still have a spot for a talented player like Foreman
"“The journey is not done yet. We still have how many days we have until Signing Day to see where I land,” Foreman said via the Gaston Gazette. “The love has never been lost for Clemson. They do everything right to me, and me and my family, we are going to see how far they go. I just want to see the environment one last time, is this where I want to recommit? Is this a place I’m really considering? We’re going to see some things and vibe out there.”"
There’s no doubt that the Tigers have plenty of depth and talent at defensive end.
They’ve already got two commitments in the 2021 class in 4-star Zaire Patterson and 4-star Cade Denhoff, but that doesn’t mean they wouldn’t still welcome back Foreman if that’s what he wanted.
The Tigers will battle with LSU, Georgia, Arizona State, Southern Cal and Oregon and it will be interesting to see where Foreman ends up when it’s all said and done.
There’s no doubt he’s a special talent and that he’d be a guy who could come in and make an immediate impact, but I also wouldn’t get my hopes up if I’m Clemson football waiting on a commitment.
Foreman is expected to make a decision during the Early Signing Period and all signs point to him going somewhere other than Clemson, but this visit tells us the Tigers aren’t out of it by any stretch of the imagination.
