Clemson defensive end Vic Beasley (3) sacks Louisville quarterback Reggie Bonnafon (7) during the 2nd quarter Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Clemson’s Memorial Stadium. The sac set the all time sack record at Clemson.Football 2014 Clemson /

Watching former Clemson football defensive end Vic Beasley evolve into the beast that he became in a Tiger uniform was nothing short of magical.

He was a guy that played running back in high school but was such an athletic freak that he was able to move to the defensive line and take advantage of his athletic ability and his speed.

After his Clemson football career ended, the NFL came calling. He was selected eighth in the 2015 NFL draft by his favorite NFL team – the Atlanta Falcons. He even wore a red and black suit on draft night hoping that they draft him.

His rookie season was a mix of injuries and question marks about the ability to be an effective pass rusher in the NFL.

However, in 2016, he led the NFL with 15.5 sacks and the Falcons made the Super Bowl. That would be the highlight of his stop in Atlanta.

Vic was never able to replicate his success in Atlanta. They let him walk after his rookie contract expired and he signed with the Tennessee Titans during the 2020 offseason for $9 million. Vic no-showed to camp, failed his physical, made zero starts, and failed to tally a sack before being cut by the Titans on Tuesday.

While we have no idea what is in store for the rest of his career, it is obvious that his best days of football are behind him.
