Three underrated stars of the game for Clemson football against Boston College
The Clemson football team fought hard to come away with a 34-28 win over the Boston College Eagles Saturday afternoon in Death Valley.
The Tigers were without their star QB Trevor Lawrence, who tested positive for COVID-19, and there was major doubt coming into this one as to how the offense would look on a short work of preparation without Lawrence.
True-freshman D.J. Uiagalelei was phenomenal.
Uiagalelei delivered 342 passing yards and accounted for three touchdowns- two in the air and one on the ground. He showed his leadership ability and did an excellent job keeping the Tigers in the game until they could finally take the lead and hold on for the victory.
But what about outside of Uiagalelei? Here’s a look at the three underrated stars of the game for Clemson football.
3. Cornell Powell
Cornell Powell came to play Saturday afternoon and there’s no doubt that he was the Tigers’ best wide receiver on the field.
Powell had 11 catches for 105 yards and came away with a few receptions that absolutely helped shape the confidence of Uiagalelei as the game progressed.
Powell didn’t get in the end zone, but he made his presence felt. He didn’t have any drops and was clearly Uiagalelei’s favorite receiving target not named Etienne because of his reliability and leadership.
