PHILADELPHIA, PA – SEPTEMBER 28: Head coach Geoff Collins of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets looks on prior to the game against the Temple Owls at Lincoln Financial Field on September 28, 2019 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Georgia Tech

The Yellow Jackets have been down for nearly a decade and it is a shame as the ACC is much better when Georgia Tech is competing for the ACC.

After finally getting rid of Paul Johnson and his outdated offense and FCS talent, the Jackets brought in Geoff Collins who has embraced everything that makes Atlanta great as well as everything that Tech’s last two coaches have completed ignored about the city.

Collins has taken a page right out of Clemson football head coach Dabo Swinney’s playbook. He put together a young and energetic staff that grinds on the recruiting trail, can relate to the athletes, and more importantly can coach their tails off.

If you watched Tech last year at all, despite winning just three games, they played their tails off for their coaching staff, which is the best sign that they are buying into his changes.

This is just year two of Geoff Collins, but they already have their future quarterback in Jeff Simms who has all the potential in the world to be a unanimous All-American and like Deshaun Watson, will attract playmakers that want to play with him.

While Tech will not compete in 2020 or 2021 with Clemson, they will be ready to dethrone Clemson in 2022 and is a team on the rise, even of their record won’t reflect as such in 2020.
