Wide Receiver

X- Joseph Ngata

  • EJ Williams or Ajou Ajou

Y- Amari Rodgers

Z- Cornell Powell

There are going to be some moving pieces when it comes to the wide receiver position this season.

While Amari Rodgers is listed in the slot and Cornell Powell at the field, we will still see times where Powell is in the slot and Rodgers is out wide. Because both Ngata and Ladson Jr. missed time due to protocol, we should expect that Powell- who has garnered all kinds of praise this preseason- will be the starter on the depth chart, even though playing time will likely be split right down the middle between him and Ladson Jr.

Ngata will start at the boundary and will have the two freshmen behind him, but don’t be surprised to see Ladson Jr. get some work out there, as well.

The wide receivers are going to be more experimental than anything else, especially during the first few weeks of the season, as the Tigers try to work through what they have and put the best lineups on the field.
