Clemson Football: Tigers’ new 2020 schedule has been released
The new 2020 Clemson football schedule has been released
The ACC officially unveiled its 2020 schedules for the upcoming season and we now know who Clemson football will open up the year with and when.
The 2020 Clemson football team will open up the season with an away game against the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. The Tigers have a date open to play a non-conference opponent, which hasn’t been announced yet, at home the following week before finishing out the year with the remainder of their nine scheduled conference games.
On that list will include Virginia and Miami at home, Georgia Tech on the road, Syracuse and Boston College at home, followed by Notre Dame and Florida State on the road. Finally, the Tigers will close out the season with a home tilt against Pittsburgh and then an away match-up against the Virginia Tech Hokies.
Clemson has two open dates built into its schedule. The Tigers will have their first bye just three weeks into the season on Sept. 26 following their non-conference game. Clemson will have their second bye the week after Notre Dame before they travel to Florida State on Nov. 21.
Let the Clemson football games begin
The overarching belief as that Clemson football will play The Citadel during Week 2 of the season. This schedule, in my opinion, is back heavy with games against Notre Dame, Florida State, Pittsburgh and Virginia Tech all to close the season.
There was a rumor that Clemson could open up the season on Labor Day night with against Notre Dame, but the Tigers won’t actually play their opening game until Sept. 12. No ACC team is slated to play an earlier than Sept. 12, with the exception of Miami (Sept. 10) and Virginia (Sept. 11), who both will play non-conference games on Thursday and Friday of that week.
It will be interesting to see how this all plays out and what the Tigers are able to do as they pursue yet another berth in the CFB Playoff.
