Clemson Football: 5-star OT Tristan Leigh announces his final group
A 5-star Clemson football target has announced his final five schools
5-star Clemson football target Tristan Leigh has announced his final five schools and included the Tigers in his running.
Leigh, a 6-foot-5, 270-pound offensive tackle from Fairfax, VA, released a video on his social media accounts announcing his top-five, which included Clemson, LSU, Oklahoma, Alabama and Ohio State.
Leigh is currently rated as the No. 3 offensive tackle in the nation, according to 247 Sports’ Composite Player Rankings. He is the No. 1 player from the state of Virginia and the No. 11 overall player in the country.
Clemson football still has some work to do on the recruiting trail
Clemson football is currently considered the favorite, according to crystal ball predictions for Leigh, but it’s by an ever-so-slight margin. And, in reality, that margin may be even smaller.
While this isn’t always an indicator, one thing that should be noticed is who made his recruiting video. GeauxEdits Designs doesn’t only make edits for LSU recruits, but it certainly makes a lot. If you look at their portfolio, you’ll see a bunch of LSU designs and it’s clear that they are big fans of the Bayou Bengals.
Does that mean that Leigh will commit to LSU? No. But it certainly doesn’t hurt matters for Ed Orgeron in terms of his recruitment.
This is going to be a tightly contested battle- particularly between Clemson and LSU, with the potential for Ohio State to get involved- and it will be interesting to see what happens.
There’s no doubt that Clemson would love to have Leigh on the roster. He possesses the kind of skill and footwork to come in and make an immediate impact. He is a player that certainly could compete for starter reps during his freshman season and has one of the highest ceilings in an offensive tackle recruit we’ve seen since Jackson Carman.
