Clemson football players may have decisions to make if things go south
It’s been covered extensively about how QB Trevor Lawrence could choose to forego his final season with the Clemson football program in favoring of just sitting out.
Even before the pandemic struck, there were media analysts who were suggesting the Clemson football QB should do as much.
As we head closer to the start of the scheduled season, it’s looking more and more likely that we may experience a delay of some kind. While it’s clear that Power-5 programs are planning to play this fall, things can always go south in this ever-changing situation.
While many Clemson football fans have talked about the decision Trevor Lawrence could be faced with if the season was postponed until late fall or spring, there’s also another talented Tiger who will have the same decision on his hands: Travis Etienne.
Travis Etienne wants to play his final season with the Clemson football program
There’s no doubt that Etienne wants to play his senior season.
He chose to return to school for one more year even though he still would’ve been a solid mid-to-high round pick in last year’s draft.
Etienne doesn’t have much left to prove as far as his Clemson football career is concerned. He’s already been named the ACC Player of the Year twice, won a National Championship, broken basically every rushing record in Tiger history and is the all-time ACC leader in touchdowns.
So, it would stand to reason that if the season gets moved to the spring, we would see Etienne move on and begin preparing for the NFL Draft.
If he doesn’t play, Etienne is still one of the top three running backs taken in the 2021 NFL Draft, at least in my opinion.
That being said, there’s no doubt that the Clemson RB wants to play his final season. He wants to wear the orange & purple one more time and hopefully we will be able to see him get that chance.
