9. Isaiah Simmons

The most versatile and single-dominant defender of the Dabo Swinney era is Isaiah Simmons and no one can really arugue otherwise.

Simmons lined up all over the field- from interior cornerback to linebacker to nickelback to safety to defensive end- and excelled every time.

During the 2019 season, Brent Venables built his defense around Simmons and the result was nothing short of spectacular.

Simmons finished his career with 253 tackles, 28.5 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, four interceptions and five forced fumbles. He won the Butkus Award in 2019, becoming the program’s first ever recipient of the award, and became the sixth unanimous All-American in Clemson football history.
