Over 55 games and 30 starts for Clemson football, Tankersley had 119 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, 20 passes broken up and nine interceptions.
During his final season with the Tigers, Tankersley was instrumental in becoming a catalyst for the Tigers to win a National Championship. He was named a a seminifalist for the Jim Thorpe Award- which is given to the best defensive back in the nation- and was named a First-Team All-American.
Tankersley continued to develop over the course of his career and the result was a lockdown cornerback with the skills and ability to play at the next level.
