The 2020 Clemson football team enters the season as one of the favorites to win the National Championship.

The Tigers return a ton of talent on both sides of the ball, headlined by a backfield that includes QB Trevor Lawrence and RB Travis Etienne.

While many rave about the talent all across the field and the potential explosiveness of the offense, there is one wide receiver who has the ability to have a big-time breakout season: WR Joseph Ngata.

Clemson football is WRU, after all

There’s a reason that the Clemson football program has become known as ‘WR U’ over the course of the last decade.

The Tigers have recruited and developed wide receivers at a rate better than basically any other program in the nation. They’ve put names like Mike Williams, Hunter Renfrow, DeAndre Hopkins, Sammy Watkins and plenty of others in the league- and there’s more on the way.

One of the hopeful NFL talents on this current Clemson football roster is Ngata.

Ngata has the stature and measurables– at 6-foot-4, 215 pounds- to be an imposing threat to defensive backfields. So much of the time, though, he was quiet on the field during his freshman season. Ngata finished his freshman campaign with 17 receptions for 240 yards and three touchdowns.

Expect those numbers to multiply during his sophomore year.

Ngata has all of the ability in the world to be a top receiving talent and he’s going to see his playing time increase from a year ago. As a result, we’re going to see him become an intricate piece of the offense and an explosive deep-ball threat for the Tigers.
