Clemson Football: 2020 team may be most talented of Dabo Swinney’s career
There have been a lot of talented Clemson football teams in Dabo Swinney‘s career, but the 2020 team has a chance to be extremely special.
The Clemson football program has ascended to height that most Tiger fans would’ve never dreamed of under Dabo Swinney.
Swinney, who took over as the head coach on a full-time basis following the 2008 season, has built the Clemson football program from scratch.
He has focused on putting a talented coaching staff together and has recruited and developed at a level unlike anything we’ve ever seen before.
The result? Well, the 2020 Clemson football team could be the most talented team of his career.
Swinney has seen plenty of talent during his time as the head coach. The Tigers have won two National Championships and have seen tons of players go in the first-round of the NFL Draft. From names like Deshaun Watson, Christian Wilkins, Dexter Lawrence, Mike Williams and Wayne Gallman to names like Tajh Boyd, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant, Vic Beasley and Grady Jarrett, there’s been no shortage of talented players to go around.
That being said, no team will have more first-round picks- and potentially total draft picks, in general- than this 2020 Clemson football team.
The Tigers have some guaranteed draft picks like Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Xavier Thomas, Justyn Ross, Amari Rodgers, Derion Kendrick, Jackson Carman and Braden Galloway. There are others like James Skalski and Nolan Turner who could work their way into the draft.
It’s not just about the talent that will enter the NFL after this season, either.
The Tigers have their highest-rated recruiting class ever coming into the program to add with all the existing talent. We’ll see players like Bryan Bresee, Demarkcus Bowman and D.J. Uiagalelei join a team that already was a CFB Playoff contender just a year ago.

No matter how you look at it, there’s no doubting the talent that this team possesses. Will they be the most talented of Dabo Swinney’s career? That remains to be seen, but the promise and potential is certainly there.
