The Clemson football program has the best coach in the nation, at least if you look at statistics. Dabo Swinney simply doesn’t lose.
Clemson football fans have known for quite a while that Dabo Swinney is the best coach in the country, but the rest of the nation is starting to come around.
Swinney, who took over the Clemson football program following the 2008 season on a full-time basis, has had quite the run during his time with the Tigers.
Over the past five seasons, Swinney has led the Tigers to five-straight CFB Playoff appearances, two National Championships, four National Championship appearances and five ACC Championships.
As we head into the 2020 season, Dabo Swinney has the top winning percentage in the nation of active FBS coaches.
Swinney has had 12 seasons as a head coach and has a winning percentage of .807. That’s higher than every other coach in the nation with a minimum of 100 career wins.
To no one’s surprise, Nick Saban is second with a winning percentage of .788. It is a little surprising, at least in my eyes, that Jimbo Fisher is third with a .758 percentage and Brian Kelly is No. 4 with a .721 winning percentage.
As we said earlier, the truth is that this stat doesn’t come as any surprise to Clemson football fans.
Dabo Swinney has been the most successful coach in the country over the past half-decade and he doesn’t look to be slowing down any time soon. Swinney has built this program to last and he is doing everything right. He’s recruiting at an elite level, developing players for their next step (whether that be football or some other profession), and is continuing to stay on top of the College Football world
