The Clemson football program will be battling for yet another 5-star in the 2021 recruiting class. OT Tristan Leigh included the Tigers in his top schools.

The Clemson football program has been recruiting at a level higher than anything we’ve ever seen before.

The Tigers finished with one of the top classes in the nation last year and have followed that up with an excellent recruiting cycle to this point, holding a top-five class.

One of the major targets in the 2021 recruiting class for Clemson football is 5-star OT Tristan Leigh.

Leigh, a 6-foot-6, 285 pound prospect from Fairfax, VA, is currently ranked as a 5-star offensive tackle and the No. 13 overall player in the country. He is the nation’s No. 3 offensive tackle, according to 247 Sports’ Composite Player Rankings.

Leigh released his group of top schools that included Clemson, Georgia, Florida State, LSU, Virginia, Florida, UCF, Ohio State, Alabama, Southern Cal, Miami, Penn State, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech and Maryland.

At this point, 247 Sports favors Clemson, giving the Tigers 50 percent of the crystal ball predictions, with Virginia Tech and Penn State each receiving 17 percent of the crystal balls.

Though the Tigers are considered the leader, it’s clear that there is still work to do.

Leigh is clearly still in the early stages of his recruitment and likely won’t make a decision until later this year. He is an extremely talented offensive tackle that shows good movement and great measurements.

The Tigers are heavily targeting Leigh and Nolan Rucci- a 5-star who is ranked as the No. 2 OT in the nation- to finish out the offensive line class.

It will be interesting to see what happens in Leigh’s recruitment over the next few months if recruiting visits are able to resume. The Tigers would love to get him on campus for the All-In Cookout this summer- if it’s able to happen- and it will be key to get him back in Clemson as soon as safely possible.
