As we inch closer to the presumptive start of the 2020 Clemson football season, OT Jackson Carman is looking to make a splash for the Tigers.

There is just one question pertaining to the Clemson football offense heading into the 2020 season: How will the Tigers replace four starters from last year’s offensive line.

The leaders of last season on the offensive line- Gage Cervenka, John Simpson, Sean Pollard and Tremayne Anchrum– are gone.

There’s plenty of talent when it comes to the Clemson football offensive line, but the question of if that talent will step up when it’s needed most is something different to consider.

And then there’s the one returning starter: OT Jackson Carman.

Carman enters his junior season with a different dynamic than what we’ve seen him in before. For the first two years, he was tasked with learning from veterans. He sat behind Mitch Hyatt as a freshman. He started last season, but still had all those veterans to help along the way.

Now, it’s all on him.

Carman won’t just be tasked with handling the blindside of Trevor Lawrence– as he did very well last year- he’ll be tasked with becoming a leader on that offensive line.

In my opinion, he’s going to do that and much more.

As we head into the 2020 season, national analysts are overlooking Carman when it comes to the offensive tackle position. Some don’t even have him inside their top-5 in the nation, but I believe he has the talent, measurables and ability to be the single-best offensive tackle in the nation.

Carman is a freak when it comes to size and athleticism and he’s going to be relied upon like never before. In addition, this is a ‘money year’ for him so he’s going to be looking for an opportunity to cement himself into the first-round of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Next. Can Bryan Bresee become a starter as freshman?. dark

With all of that in mind, I expect a superb year from Jackson Carman that leads the Clemson football offensive tackle to finishing as an All-American.
