The first Clemson football quarterback to benefit from the NIL rule change won’t be Trevor Lawrence, most likely. He is on the roster, though.

D.J. Uiagalelei, a current freshman who enrolled in January, is going to have a big-time opportunity to earn compensation through the NIL rule change.

Uiagalelei is expected to take over as the starting QB during the 2021 season and he would have two seasons to increase his popularity and earn NIL opportunities.

Uiagalelei would likely benefit greatly right away from local companies, but he would have the highest upside of any Clemson football player midway through his sophomore season and into his junior year as he climbs draft boards and becomes a popular College Football player.
