It’s just not the offseason until we start seeing major disrespect thrown in the direction of Clemson football. That’s exactly what we saw from ESPN.

The Clemson football program continues to be one of the major objects of criticism from around the world of sports media.

The Tigers have endured disrespect, criticism and slights from analysts across the country for quite some time and, honestly, it just wouldn’t be the offseason without it.

ESPN College Football released a list on Twitter called ‘Building Your Dream U.’ Participants were supposed to have $15 to build their team, which included picking a DBU, LBU, QBU, RBU and WRU.

Though many consider Clemson football to be WRU by a wide margin, the Tigers weren’t even included on the list. That prompted a short, but powerful reply from the Clemson football Twitter account.

If ESPN would stop living in the past and look at what’s been happening for a decade now, they would be able to see that there’s no way Clemson shouldn’t have been included in this list.

Instead, the organization went on to release a list of the ‘top-10 WRUs in the country‘ and they didn’t even include Clemson football in the top-10.

For some reason, the network must really rely on living in the past rather than the here-and-now. No one has produced more wide receiver talent than Clemson over the past decade. The Tigers have names like DeAndre Hopkins (the best WR in the NFL), Sammy Watkins, Mike Williams and many others in the NFL. They have 11 current wide receivers in the NFL.

Next. Trevor Lawrence is sneaking by. dark

There’s no doubting that there is rich tradition in many other programs around the nation, but everyone knows Clemson has been the best at producing wide receivers for quite some time now and the Tigers aren’t backing off that claim.
