The Clemson football program has seen its fair share of talent in the league. Could Tiger fans see Vic Beasley return to prominence with his new team?

Dabo Swinney has built the Clemson football program by recruiting and developing at a high level, and that has led to the Tigers seeing several great talents make their way to the next level.

Vic Beasley, the all-time sack leader for the Clemson football program, has had a nice career since being drafted by the Atlanta Falcons in 2015. He was selected as a first-team All-Pro during the 2016 season, but has yet to replicate that kind of success again.

After coming away with 15.5 sacks during 2016, Beasley had just five sacks during the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He finished with eight sacks in 2019, as well as 42 tackles- which was a career-high.

Despite a small uptick in production during 2019- in terms of stats- and a resurgence during the second half of the season, the Atlanta Falcons chose not to offer Beasley an extension. He signed a one-year, $9.5 million deal with the Tennessee Titans.

Could Clemson football fans see Beasley return to prominence with a new uniform?

There’s no doubting that Beasley still has the talent. While his explosiveness is likely not where it was back in 2016, he still has plenty of speed and athleticism to be an elite pass-rusher. He will also have a chance to fit into a system with the Titans that will give him an opportunity to develop into that leading pass-rusher.

Are we going to see Beasley become a Pro-Bowler? Probably not. But there’s no reason we can’t see him become a double-digit sack machine again and have a major uptick in his production.

It didn’t make sense for the Falcons to attempt to re-sign him to a deal of nearly $10 million when they had other major needs, but Beasley could be a focus point in Tennessee and that will help as he moves forward with his career.
