The favorites for the 2020 College Football season are clear and there’s really no arguing: It’s Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama, then everyone else.

If you’re looking at odds for favorites during the 2020 College Football season, you’re going to see the same three names among the top of the list: It’s Clemson, Ohio State, Alabama and then everyone else.

Currently those three programs are considered heavy favorites for their individual conferences- with the Tigers and Buckeyes being overwhelming favorites.

So, what do these teams look like? Here’s what Clemson football fans should know about their team and the most likely competition for the 2020 National Championship.

Clemson

We’ll start with the program that you’re obviously most familiar with. The Tigers return Trevor Lawrence, Travis Etienne, Justyn Ross, Amari Rodgers, Tyler Davis, Derion Kendrick, James Skalski and many others that makes them the clear favorites.

Clemson will be looking to avenge that loss to LSU back in January and there’s plenty of talent, experience and skill to get back to the CFB Playoff and compete.

Ohio State

Ohio State will have to replace several key players off of their defense, but the Buckeyes still return plenty of talent, led by Justin Fields, Chris Olave, Garrett Wilson and Shaun Wade. Ohio State will be the clear favorites in the Big Ten and it almost seems as if the Buckeyes and Tigers are on a collision course for one another at this point.

Alabama

Behind Clemson and Ohio State is Alabama. The Crimson Tide lost two games last year and didn’t make the CFB Playoff, but there’s still plenty of talent and an elite-level coach in Nick Saban for them to get back to prominence.

Alabama will have some difficulty competing with teams like LSU and Auburn in their own division- especially as the program tries to find its starting quarterback- but the Crimson Tide are still the favorite for a reason.

Everyone Else

In addition to Clemson, Ohio State and Alabama, there are some other programs to keep your eye on in the CFB Playoff race:

  • Georgia
  • LSU
  • Oklahoma
  • Oregon
  • Notre Dame
  • Florida
  • Penn State

All of these programs- and potentially a few others- have an opportunity to take the next step forward, but it’s clear that the Tigers, Buckeyes and Crimson Tide are heads-and-shoulders ahead of everyone else heading into the 2020 season.
