He showed that they cared about the person more than the player and that if you put the effort into it, Clemson would provide the tools to be successful after football as well.

Deshaun also continued the leadership and culture that players before like Tajh Boyd, Vic Beasley and Grady Jarrett all helped to instill within the walls of Clemson football. There was a belief that once Watson left, Clemson would crumble and instead they have become even stronger because of what he helped build.
