3. Shredding South Carolina

Fast-forward 10 months from that Alabama loss and you’ll find the next moment on our list.

Though Watson and the Tigers fell to Pittsburgh just a couple of weeks earlier, they were firmly in the CFB Playoff hunt heading into the annual in-state match-up with South Carolina. And the Gamecocks were chirping.

It didn’t take long for all that talk to go right down the drain as Watson, Mike Williams, Wayne Gallman and Co. absolutely shredded the South Carolina defense.

Watson finished the night passing for 347 yards and six touchdowns to one interception, leading the Tigers to a 56-7 win. Honestly, it could’ve been 100-7 if Clemson had wanted it to be that night.

With the win, Watson fulfilled his promise that he’d never lose to South Carolina while he was the QB at Clemson.
