Clemson Football: 5 unforgettable Deshaun Watson moments
4. An admirable effort
This is a moment that many Clemson football fans may want to forget, but it’s one that should absolutely be highlighted when talking about Watson.
During his sophomore season (2015), Watson led Clemson to the National Title game and went toe-to-toe with Alabama, eventually falling 45-40.
Though the Tigers lost the game, it can’t be faulted on Watson. He threw for 405 yards and four touchdowns to one interception, while rushing for 73 yards, against what many considered to be one of the best defenses in College Football history.
Yes, it was a loss, but it was a foretelling of what was to come.
Watson and his teammates were determined to not let that happen again and this set precedent for the Clemson football program becoming a legitimate contender in the landscape of College Football moving forward.
