3. The close calls come to fruition

Sticking in the golden age of Clemson football, what if some of these ‘close calls’ had come to fruition.

What are we talking about?  Well, here are some examples:

  • 2015: @ Louisville (20-17)
  • 2015: vs. Notre Dame (24-22)
  • 2016: vs. Louisville (42-36)
  • 2016: vs. NC State (24-17 OT)
  • 2018: vs. Syracuse (27-23)
  • 2019 @ UNC (21-20)

If any of these games are losses, there’s a chance that the Tigers don’t even make the CFB Playoff to begin with. Especially, I look at that 2016 Louisville game and the 2018 Syracuse game. Those were the two National Championship seasons and it was close to the Tigers not even making the playoff.
