7. C.J. Spiller chose to transfer back to Florida

For those that don’t remember, C.J. Spiller chose Clemson over Florida during his recruitment, but was faced with plenty of adversity.

Following his freshman season, reports emerged that Spiller was strongly considering transferring back to his home state. His family lived very close to Gainesville and the running back was certainly experiencing a little bit of ‘home sickness.’

He met with Tommy Bowden and ultimately elected to stay, but what if he had gone through with the transfer decision?

Spiller, who is now surely to be a Ring of Honor inductee at some point in the future, would’ve never gone on to have the historical Clemson football career that he ended up having, carrying the Tiger offense and proving to be one of the most explosive backs in history.
