The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class could yet again be one of the best in the nation. A 4-star DB just named the Tigers his leader.

The Clemson football coaching staff is entrenched in spring practices, as well as looking towards the 2021 recruiting cycle, as we head into the spring.

The Tigers currently have one of the top classes in the nation- with commitments from several 4-stars and the nation’s No. 1 overall player– and the overall consensus is things will only get better as the cycle progresses.

One of the positions Clemson football will carefully address in the 2021 cycle is defensive back. The Tigers will likely take just one safety in the class and, because of that, they’ll be conservative in scholarship offer numbers.

4-star DB Corey Collier named Clemson his leader. Collier- a talented product from Miami, Fla- has a top group of Clemson, Georgia and Florida, according to Sports Illustrated’s John Garcia Jr.

Collier is one of just seven offers at safety, according to 247 Sports, and would be a great pick-up for Clemson. He’s currently considered the No. 3 player at the position and is ranked No. 60 overall, according to the 247 Sports’ Composite player rankings.

Clemson has plenty of depth and young talent at the safety position and that’s why the Tigers will likely only take one safety- no more than two- in the class.

Defensive backs typically take a little longer to make a decision than other position groups as programs wait to show full-interest until later on in the cycle. Collier is set to make a decision in December during the Early National Signing Period, so his decision is obviously far from being 100 percent, but it’s always a good sign that Clemson is among the leaders.
