Though many Clemson football fans would love to see the QB return for another season, Trevor Lawrence will likely be heading to the NFL Draft.

With the recent decisions of Clemson football players like Travis Etienne, Christian Wilkins and Clelin Ferrell to return to school instead of leaving when they were first eligible for the NFL Draft, many Tiger fans have speculated that Trevor Lawrence could be the next one to do so.

Though the idea of having Lawrence around for a fourth season sounds like a dream, the reality is that the chances of it happening are slim-to-none.

Lawrence told the media following spring practice earlier this week that he is scheduled to graduate in December.

Though Lawrence said he was influenced by Etienne’s decision and he has several options, that news- in and of itself- should tell Clemson football fans all they need to know about the potential of Lawrence staying another season.

Lawrence is on the ‘Deshaun Watson schedule cycle.’ He enrolled early, took extra hours and is going to graduate basically a full-year ahead of schedule.

Though he hasn’t come out and said that the 2020 season will be his last in a Clemson football uniform, the fact that he is going to graduate in December tells us everything week need to know. Lawrence is going to complete his degree, finish up his Clemson football degree and then the plan is to declare for the 2021 NFL Draft.

At this point, Trevor Lawrence would be considered the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2021 NFL Draft class and certainly would be in line to be the first QB taken off the board.
