Clemson Football: 5 steps for Trevor Lawrence to become the GOAT

4. Break Records

Though we don’t place too much emphasis on stats, Lawrence has a chance to etch his name in the program record books before it’s all said and done.

He will enter 2019 with 6,945 career passing yards. That puts him fourth all-time in program history and just 3,219 yards away from passing Watson (10,163 career passing yards) for the No. 2 spot and 4,960 yards from passing Tajh Boyd’s record, which isn’t likely but it’s not out of the question, either.

Trevor Lawrence can also surpass Watson’s passing touchdown mark (90) with 24 passing touchdowns this season and he would claim the No. 1 spot- also held by Boyd (107)- with 41 touchdown passes.

Either way, Lawrence has a chance to put up some major numbers and leave the Clemson football program in the top part of the record books, no matter what.
