1. Defensive Backfield
As far as open starting positions are concerned, there is only one group with more openings than the offensive line and that’s the defensive backfield.
With A.J. Terrell, K’Von Wallace and Tanner Muse gone, Clemson will have three open starting positions in the secondary.
Veteran Nolan Turner will return and is expected to grab one of the safety spots, but what about the cornerback opposite-side of Derion Kendrick? Mario Goodrich, Andrew Booth Jr., Sheridan Jones and LeAnthony Williams will all battle for a shot at a starting position.
Clemson also has plenty of young, but talented safeties who will compete for starter reps.
The two-deep is up in the air at this position and the questions will begin to be answered here in the spring.
