2. Second-String QB
Chase Brice announced that he’d be transferring to Duke for his final two years of eligibility and that opened up a door for us to see the starting 2021 QB battle a year earlier than expected.
RS Freshman Taisun Phommachanh and true-freshman DJ Uiagalelei will begin their battle to back-up Trevor Lawrence this year with the winner taking an inside track on the starting position in the 2021 season after Lawrence declares for the NFL Draft.
Phommachanh is a solid dual-threat QB who now has a year in the system as his advantage. Uiagalelei is a huge QB with a big arm that may very well be just as strong as Lawrence’s. Let the competition begin.
