Clemson Football: 247 Sports updates 2021 recruiting rankings
The 2021 Clemson football commits had their star-ratings updated in the 247 Sports’ player rankings earlier this week.
The 2021 Clemson football recruiting class is considered one of the best in the nation early on in the cycle, and it’s clear to see why.
The Tigers have commitments from some of the top prospects in the country, but it seems that 247 Sports is just beginning to come around on some of these Clemson football commits.
The recruiting service updated its 2021 recruiting rankings and the biggest mover for Clemson football was 4-star LB Jeremiah Trotter Jr. Trotter was originally outside the top-200, but is now considered the No. 25 overall prospect in the nation, according to 247 Sports.
4-star TE Jake Briningstool moved up 21 spots to No. 143. Though these two prospects saw upward movements, 4-star WR Beaux Collins dropped to No. 110 after originally being inside the top-100. OL Marcus Tate is now ranked No. 116 overall.
Interestingly enough, 247 Sports has 5-star DE Korey Foreman listed as its No. 2 overall player.
The 247 Sports’ Composite rankings- which include rankings from all the major recruiting services- tell a different story.
Foreman is considered the No. 1 player in the nation, according to the Composite rankings. LB Trotter is No. 32, WR Collins is No. 59, TE Briningstool is No. 76, DE Denhoff is No. 102 and OL Tate is No. 109, as for Clemson football commitments inside the top-150 of the composite rankings.
Though it’s still too early for any of these rankings to mean anything- as if they ever really do- I’m not sure what the hate for Beaux Collins is all about. He continues to drop by several major recruiting services, but there’s nothing on his film that would point to anything other than an elite wide receiver. In my opinion, he’s one of the top WRs in this cycle and deserves a 5-star rating, not to be dropped.
