Step 2: Impress Voters Early

Look, we all know that Lawrence is never going to have the passing statistics that just absolutely blow away people from the outside-looking in.

It’s not because of his ability, but because of the fact that the Tigers blow out teams and Swinney elects to build depth rather than running up the score or trying to put up ‘pretty numbers.’

With all that being said, Lawrence has to impress the voters early to have a chance at the award.

Lawrence was eliminated from Heisman contention last season after the first month simply because his interception total was up. No one even paid attention to the last half of his season where he played the position just as effective as anyone in the country.

To win this award, Lawrence has to impress voters early.
