Clemson Football: Getting Notre Dame tickets now is a smart bet

A trip to South Bend, Indiana is on tap for Clemson football in just under nine months and it would be smart to get your tickets and hotels now before they cost more than national championship tickets.

Sure, if you are among the lucky few higher up on the IPTAY donor list, you already know your Clemson football tickets for the newly announced night game in South Bend are good to go, but if you are part of the thousands that plan on making the trip and using the secondary ticket market to grab tickets, now is your best bet.

With the run of the last five years, Clemson football has eaten into a lot of retirement funds. Playing in three extra games for most of the last five years gets expensive. But, you can’t take the money with you when you go, so you might as well create memories while you are here.

If you sat through the hurricane in Death Valley back in 2015, you have been looking forward to the return trip aspect of Clemson and Notre Dame. Whether you have ever liked Notre Dame or not, Notre Dame Stadium is on your bucket list as is Touchdown Jesus.

If you know you are not going to have IPTAY allotted tickets, getting in now on the secondary ticket market would be smart. Tickets are currently listed for just over $400 on several of the sites. By the time this early November night game arrives, we could see that number more than double if both teams are having the season that they are expected to have.

Both teams will more than likely be undefeated and ranked in the Top 5 of the AP poll. The last time Notre Dame Stadium hosted a matchup of Top 5 teams – November 13, 1993, when #1 FSU visited #3 Notre Dame; the Fighting Irish went on to win 31-24.

If this is indeed a Top 5 matchup, not only will ticket prices be astronomical, but the atmosphere will be second to none. Notre Dame fans proved a few years ago that they will allow their stadium to be taken over as UGA fans flocked to South Bend and painted Notre Dame Stadium red and black, Clemson football fans will more than likely do the same thing.

Prepare now, waiting until the last minute could cost you thousands more for what will undoubtedly be a trip of a lifetime.
