The Clemson football program is going out and recruiting at a level higher than anything we’ve ever seen or could’ve imagined before.

The Clemson football program finished with a top-3 recruiting class in the nation for the 2020 cycle and the Tigers are in position to continue their dominance across the landscape of CFB.

Despite the immense success of Clemson football, there have been a couple of analysts point out that the Tigers are somehow ‘missing’ on recruits in their backyard.

Mike Uva, Sports Anchor/Report for WACH Fox in Columbia, posted a picture showing the dominance that South Carolina had recruiting prospects in-state.

The Gamecocks signed eight of the top 11 players in the state, including winning the battle for 5-star DE Jordan Burch, who was considered one of the top prospects in the country.

Somehow, many South Carolina fans are believing that this shows their program on an incline and Clemson on a decline. But that’s just not the case.

Of all the players in the state of South Carolina, the Clemson football coaching staff had offered one prospect with a commitable offer, and that was Burch.

The Tigers are no longer confined to recruiting the state well. Instead, they’re going out to California and getting one of the top quarterbacks in the nation. They’re hand-picking defensive linemen and play-makers from the best of the best.

Another point to consider is that overall talent is down in the state of South Carolina. That’s the case for the 2021 cycle, as well.

Of course, Clemson football wants to get in-state kids. There are plenty of players who were huge Tiger fans, but the truth is that Clemson is no longer confined to the walls of the Palmetto State or the Pipeline states in the area, either.

Dabo Swinney has the ability to go and win recruiting battles out west, down south, up in the north and everywhere in between. Anyone who thinks otherwise clearly isn’t paying attention.

There’s nowhere that Clemson football brand isn’t reaching.
