Clemson Football: 2020 NFL Draft Profile for A.J. Terrell
Clemson football CB A.J. Terrell will be looking to increase his stock over the course of the next couple of months heading into the draft.
The Clemson football program will have several players selected in the upcoming 2020 NFL Draft. One of those selections will be CB A.J. Terrell.
Terrell announced that he’d be foregoing his senior season to pursue his dream of playing football professionally a couple of weeks ago and became one of the top cornerback prospects for many NFL organizations.
Here’s a look at Terrell’s NFL Draft Profile and what Clemson football fans can expect moving forward with him.
2020 NFL Draft Profile: A.J. Terrell
Height: 6-foot-1
Weight: 190 pounds
Draft Grade: 2nd to 3rd round
Analysis:
When you look at mock drafts, most have Terrell going somewhere in the second round. Many have him going early in that second round and others have him going a little bit later.
Because of some of the talented cornerbacks at the top, Terrell won’t likely be able to work his way into the first-round, but certainly has the ability to lock up becoming a second-rounder with a solid showing in workouts and the NFL Combine.
Many want to point to Terrell’s film against LSU as a flag and that certainly should be considered. He was beaten on several occasions by Ja’Marr Chase, but you should also point out when watching those highlights that Terrell was in position in basically every single situation. He was just beaten by a talented play-maker. Sometimes that happens.
Terrell also has plenty of film showing him as a dominant lockdown force who could develop into a solid coverage option at the next level.
NFL scouts have differing opinions on Terrell, but his film, talent and skill will still likely land him in the second round. At this point, I’d expect him to be somewhere right around the midpoint of the round 2 with an opportunity to propel himself up inside the top-10 of the round.
