Clemson Football: 7 elite recruits who never matched their star-ratings

2. Tony Steward, LB (2011)

Tony Steward was considered the nation’s top linebacker prospect in the 2011 recruiting cycle.

Steward, a 5-star LB, was expected by many to step in and make an impact immediately. That never really happened, though.

Steward tore his ACL during his freshman season and continued to struggle with injury problems throughout his time as a Tiger and in the NFL.

As a senior, Stewart totaled 58 tackles and 10.5 tackles for loss, but never really developed into that next great ‘Jeff Davis,’ much of that due to injury.
